I was skeptical when you approached the City of Derby concerning our telecommunications costs. We had recently reviewed our services and felt we had done a good job of providing economical services that met our needs. You were able to come in and identify several area where our long standing phone company was overcharging us and identified a couple areas where it was wise to move to a different service, or at least a different level of service. Our savings were significant and certainly worth the time spent to facilitate your study.

I’m writing this letter on behalf of CTI for services rendered over the past few months. CTI actually provided two levels of consulting that were very beneficial to the City of El Dorado.

The City entered into an agreement with CTI to analyze and audit the City’s existing telephone billing records. CTI also conducted an inventory of our existing buildings to ensure accuracy. During the process, they did an excellent job of identifying both present and future needs for the city. CTI also determined various erroneous invoices and obtained future credit that we will be realizing for the next three years.

Secondly, our city was facing the need to replace our telephone system. The acquisition of this new system provided many challenges of connecting multiple buildings together and the vital system. By evaluating equipment and cabling issues, suggestions were made that covered both voice and data that had not been considered prior to CTI's involvement. In the past, City staff reviewed many options and was becoming very confused with the various options that wee being offered with today’s technology. CTI representative Dan Burns provided the experience and expertise in the preparation of the RFP’s, subsequent review, and final analysis for the new telephone system that we will be installing this month. Mr. Burns was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. It certainly made the approval and acquisition a very simple transition. We were pleased with our experience and would recommend CTI wholeheartedly.

Advancing technology is one of those good news, bad news things: it can be very time saving and convenient; but, it is continually changing or evolving making it hard to manager and stay abreast.  This is the position that we found ourselves, our telephone system hardware was outdated becoming harder to repair and our services didnt match our needs.  Our system at one time was adequate but with both the changes in techno and the change in our operations it left a lot to be desired.

Dan was recommend to us by the work he had done for Rod Franz of the City of Salina.  He was committed to provide us his service, which was his knowledge of telecommunications an matching it to our current needs.  He did not gain or lose by the system hardware or provider that we chose.

He performed an analysis of our needs by visiting with our people then matched those to a system.  Through his knowledge of our needs and what was available in the area he was able to fit one of our locations with a refurbished system with more than a 50% savings.  He made recommendations for provider services and prepared a Request for Proposal for our main system.  We received proposals from six different supplies of which three were very competitive.

We have changes some of our services resulting in good savings.  We have accepted a proposal for a system and it is being installed I would recommend Dans services.  We found him good to work with and perceptive to our needs.
